Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Add the chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring an even distribution.
- Spread the dough: Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Cool and slice: Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.
Notes
- For extra gooey bars, slightly underbake them by reducing the baking time by 2–3 minutes.
- Use a mix of chocolate chips and chunks for a richer chocolate flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
