- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with the buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- For the topping, mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon together, then sprinkle it over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add nuts or chocolate chips to the batter.
- Serve with a glaze for an extra sweet touch.
