Description

This homemade mayonnaise recipe combines a few simple ingredients to create a rich and creamy condiment.


Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 cup oil (vegetable or olive)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a tall container or mixing bowl, combine the egg, Dijon mustard, and vinegar.
  2. Using an immersion blender, blend the mixture for about 20 seconds until well combined.
  3. While blending, slowly drizzle in the oil until the mayonnaise thickens.
  4. Add salt and lemon juice to taste and blend briefly to incorporate.
  5. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
