Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Add in the flour, salt, and oil, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll.
  7. Place the rolls on a baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Make a small cross on the top of each roll with a sharp knife.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before serving.

  • For a crispier crust, mist the rolls with water before baking.
