Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (or diced ham) 🍖
  • 8 large eggs 🥚
  • 2 cups milk 🥛
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 🧀
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 🧀
  • 6 slices of bread, cubed 🍞
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 🧄
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 🧅
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika 🌶️
  • Salt and pepper to taste 🧂

Instructions

  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread the bread cubes evenly in the dish.
  • In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease and spread over the bread cubes.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and bread.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top.
  • Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) the next morning. Remove the casserole from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  • Bake the casserole uncovered for 40-45 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
