Cinnamon Scones

  • Total Time: 35 minutes

Description

Classic Cinnamon Scones are a delightful baked treat, combining the warm flavors of cinnamon with a buttery, crumbly texture. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or afternoon tea, these scones offer a sweet and spicy flavor that pairs wonderfully with your favorite coffee or tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in cinnamon chips.
  6. Turn dough out onto a floured surface, form a circle, and cut into 8 wedges.
  7. Place scones on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. You can also use a mix of milk and cream for a less rich dough.
