Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Melt the butter in the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
  4. Add the cauliflower and broccoli florets, sauté for 5-7 minutes until starting to soften.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and stir in salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and nutmeg. Let simmer.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  7. Fold in the cooked sausage into the veggie and cheese mixture.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading evenly. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
