Step-by-Step Instructions for Chocolate Turtle Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk thoroughly.
  3. Add eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  4. Carefully stir in boiling water until fully incorporated. The batter will be thin.
  5. Divide the batter between the cake pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. A toothpick should come out clean.
