  • 1 cup cream cheese Provides a creamy texture that balances the sweetness; make sure it's softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds a lovely depth of flavor; consider using pure vanilla for the best results.

  • Mixing Bowl
  • spatula
  • 9x13 inch dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Chocotorta
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine dulce de leche and softened cream cheese. Blend until smooth and creamy, around 3-5 minutes.
  2. Choose a rectangular dish or square pan suitable for layering, around 9x13 inches. Place it on a clean surface.
  3. Dip each chocolate cookie quickly into water or milk, then arrange a single layer at the bottom of the dish.
  4. Spread a generous layer of the dulche de leche and cream cheese mixture over the cookies, using about half of it.
  5. Repeat the process with soaked cookies and remaining cream mixture, finishing with a creamy layer on top.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  7. Once chilled, remove the plastic wrap, slice into portions, and serve garnished with chocolate shavings or fresh fruit.
