  • cup vanilla vodka adds a fun twist and makes these drinks a grown-up treat
For the Finishing Touch

  • candy corn for garnish optional, enhances the Halloween theme

Equipment

  • small saucepan
  • shot glasses

Method

Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, pour 1 cup of water and stir in 2 packets of unflavored gelatin. Warm the mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally until the gelatin has dissolved completely, about 3–5 minutes. Remove from heat and add half of the sweetened condensed milk, stirring until well combined.
  2. Set aside half of the gelatin mixture, and pour the remaining creamy mixture into shot glasses, filling each about ⅓ full. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until the first layer is firm.
  3. In a clean saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the remaining unflavored gelatin packet. Warm the mixture over low heat, stirring until the gelatin dissolves completely. Remove from heat, mix in the orange Jell-O until fully dissolved, and then stir in the fresh orange juice.
  4. Carefully pour the orange layer over the set white layer in each shot glass, filling them up to the top. Refrigerate until the orange layer is firm, about 1–2 hours.
  5. Once the orange layer is solid, take the reserved white mixture and add a few drops of yellow food coloring. Pour this yellow layer on top of the orange layer in each shot glass.
  6. Refrigerate for an additional 2 hours, allowing the layers to meld beautifully.
  7. After chilling for a total of 3 hours, your Halloween Jello Shots will be ready. Garnish each shot with a piece of candy corn just before serving.
