  • 1 package Refrigerated Pizza Dough Store-bought or homemade
For the Filling
  • 10 oz Fresh Baby Spinach Can use frozen as substitute
  • 1 cup Baby Bella Mushrooms Sliced thin
  • ½ cup Onion Sliced thin, shallots can be used
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic is a substitute
  • Salt and Pepper To taste
  • 1 cup Ricotta Cheese Cottage cheese can be used for lighter option
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Other melted cheeses can be used
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian Seasoning Any dried herb mix can suffice
For the Topping
  • 1 Egg Beaten, for egg wash
  • 2 tablespoon Water To mix with egg
For Serving
  • Marinara Sauce For dipping

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and allow the refrigerated pizza dough to come to room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add sliced onions, mushrooms, and fresh spinach, sauté for 5-7 minutes, then season with salt and pepper.
  3. Drizzle more olive oil into a 9x13-inch baking pan and evenly spread it. Stretch the pizza dough into a large rectangle that fits the pan.
  4. Spread ricotta cheese over the dough, leaving a 1-1.5 inch border. Layer on sautéed vegetables, sprinkle with garlic powder and shredded mozzarella.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from one edge to the other, sealing sides and ends.
  6. Mix beaten egg with water and brush the entire stromboli, then and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  7. Bake assembled stromboli in the oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Monitor closely in the last few minutes.
  8. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serve warm with marinara sauce.
