Step-by-Step Instructions for Buttery Spritz Cookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line baking sheets with silicone baking mats.
  2. In a large mixer bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts, and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add flour and salt to the wet mixture, mix until just combined.
  5. If desired, divide the dough and mix in gel icing colors.
  6. Load the dough into the cookie press and release onto lined baking sheets.
