Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat the egg whites on medium speed until foamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add cream of tartar and beat until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar while beating on high until mixture is glossy with stiff peaks, around 5-7 minutes.
- Mix in vanilla extract and almond extract if desired.
- Transfer meringue to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip.
- Pipe small circles (1.5 inches) for the bodies and smaller circles (1 inch) for the heads.
- Bake for about 2 hours until completely dry and easily lift off the parchment.
- Turn off the oven and let cool inside for one hour.
- Stack smaller meringues on top of larger ones to create snowmen.
- Use melted chocolate to attach mini chocolate chips and orange candy.
- Add mini marshmallows and sprinkle with colored sprinkles or edible glitter.
- Arrange on a festive platter for serving.
