Ingredients

For the Margarita Mix
  • 1 cup Fresh Blackberries Substitution: Frozen blackberries can be used for a colder, frosty drink.
  • 2 ounces Silver Tequila Opt for premium brands for best results.
  • 1 ounce Fresh Lime Juice Freshly squeezed is best; bottled juice can detract from flavor.
  • 1 ounce Orange Liqueur Substitution: Triple sec or orange juice concentrate can be used for a different flavor.
  • ¾ ounce Agave Syrup Can be replaced with honey or a sugar-free alternative for a keto-friendly version.
For the Glass Rim
  • 1 tablespoon Coarse Sea Salt

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fine Mesh Sieve
  • Measuring jigger
  • Glass

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Blackberry Margaritas
  1. Begin by rinsing 1 cup of fresh blackberries under cold water to clean them thoroughly. Place the washed blackberries in a blender and blend on high for about 30 seconds until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds, ensuring a silky-smooth puree.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces of silver tequila, 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 ounce of orange liqueur, ¾ ounce of agave syrup, and 2 tablespoons of the freshly prepared blackberry puree. Fill the shaker with ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until well mixed and chilled.
  3. While the cocktail is chilling, take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of your glass to add some zest. Dip the rim of the glass into coarse sea salt, allowing it to stick. Fill the glass with fresh ice cubes.
  4. Carefully strain the shaken cocktail mixture into your prepared glass, and garnish with fresh blackberries and a lime wheel. Enjoy immediately!
