Preparation
- In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water over low heat, stirring constantly until the sugar fully dissolves. This should take about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool to room temperature.
- Grab a cocktail shaker and fill it halfway with ice cubes.
- Add 2 oz of gin, 1 oz of elderflower liqueur, 1 oz of fresh lemon juice, and the cooled simple syrup into the shaker.
- Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
- Gently top the cocktail with 3 oz of tonic water.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary and a lemon wheel.
