  • 1 packet Taco seasoning
  • ½ cup Shredded carrot optional
  • ½ cup Chopped bell pepper or baby spinach optional
For the Crust
  • 2 pkg Pie crusts, defrosted but unbaked
For Topping
  • 1 cup Shredded Mexican cheese
  • 1 large Egg for brushing
For Dipping
  • 1 cup Salsa choose your favorite

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground meat until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Add taco seasoning and optional vegetables.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out pie crusts to ¼ inch thickness and cut ghost shapes.
  4. Place half of the shapes on prepared baking sheets, fill with taco filling and sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Cut eyes and mouths in the remaining shapes and place on top of the filled shapes.
  6. Seal the edges with a fork, ensuring there are no gaps.
  7. Mix egg with a splash of water or milk and brush over the hand pies.
  8. Bake for 10-14 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Let the hand pies cool for a few minutes and serve with salsa or guacamole.
