Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by peeling and thinly slicing 1-2 teaspoons of fresh ginger and 1 teaspoon of fresh turmeric. Set these aside.
  2. In a small pot, pour in 2 cups of fresh, filtered water and bring it to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  3. When the water is boiling, add the sliced ginger and turmeric to the pot and stir gently to combine.
  4. Lower the heat to a gentle simmer and cover the pot. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. After simmering, remove the pot from heat and strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer into a mug.
  6. Stir in honey and fresh lemon juice to taste, starting with a teaspoon of each.
  7. Enjoy your tea in a favorite mug, garnished with fresh mint, lemon wedge, or a cinnamon stick if desired.
