Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by washing and chopping your medium apples into bite-sized pieces, toss these apple pieces in a bowl with the lemon juice, ensuring they are well coated.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and use an electric mixer to beat it until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Gradually sprinkle the powdered sugar into the cream cheese mixture while continuing to mix on low speed, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. Gently fold the whipped topping into your cream cheese mixture using a spatula until well-combined and fluffy.
  5. In a large serving bowl, take half of your cream cheese mixture and spread it evenly across the bottom.
  6. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Spread your chopped apple pieces evenly over the caramel layer.
  8. Add the remaining cream cheese mixture on top of the apples, smoothing it out.
  9. Drizzle the rest of the caramel sauce over this layer, followed by the leftover chopped apples.
  10. Drizzle any additional caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle on crushed graham crackers or chopped nuts if desired.
  11. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
