- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface until slightly larger and even.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Slice the puff pastry into 1-inch wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Take about 1 tablespoon of the filling and place it at one end of a pastry strip, then fold the strip in half lengthwise and seal the edges.
- Twist the filled pastry strip several times to create a spiral shape and place it onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Whisk the egg and brush it over the tops of each twisted pastry. Sprinkle optional toppings if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed up and golden brown.
