Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Boil lasagna noodles in a large pot of water with olive oil and salt until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse.
  2. Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for 6-8 minutes until browned, draining excess grease.
  3. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in the skillet for 4-5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce and tomato paste, season with salt and chopped parsley, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Mix ricotta, half mozzarella, half Parmesan, beaten egg, and parsley in a bowl until smooth.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Layer ingredients in a 9x13 inch casserole dish: meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture; repeat until finished.
  8. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
