Step-by-Step Instructions

  3. In a separate bowl, mix mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and fresh spinach (if using).
  4. Flatten the meat mixture into a rectangle approximately ½ inch thick.
  5. Spread the cheese filling over the flattened meat, leaving about 1 inch clear around the edges.
  6. Roll the meatloaf up, jelly-roll style, sealing the edges tightly.
  7. Transfer the rolled meatloaf seam-side down onto a baking sheet or into a loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  9. In the last 10 minutes of baking, spread marinara sauce over the top.
  10. Allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  11. Slice and serve with extra marinara sauce and your favorite side dishes.
