Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Toss in the finely chopped onions and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic into the skillet with the onions and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the finely chopped mushrooms into the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms release their moisture.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth.
  7. Add the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, dried thyme, and optional crushed red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper, and stir well.
  8. Gently fold the cooled mushroom mixture into the cheese mixture until evenly combined.
  9. Transfer the dip mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly on top.
  11. Carefully remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
  12. Serve warm alongside baguette slices or tortilla chips.
