Step-by-Step Instructions for Stuffing
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously butter a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt ¾ cup of butter. Add in 1 cup of diced onions and 1 cup of diced celery. Cook for 20–30 minutes until soft and translucent.
- Remove from heat and stir in salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, marjoram, sage, and parsley.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs and 2 cups of chicken broth until well combined. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, add 8 cups of stale bread cubes. Pour the buttery vegetable mixture over the bread. Pour in the egg and chicken broth mix, tossing everything together.
- Pour the stuffing mixture into the buttered baking dish and dot the top with 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden brown. Broil for 1–2 minutes if desired.

Notes
Use stale bread for best texture; fresh bread can lead to mushy stuffing. Customize herbs to your preference for a unique taste.
