Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Pat the chicken breasts dry and rub the spice blend generously on both sides.
  4. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and pour salsa over the chicken, coating well.
  6. Spoon queso dip over the salsa-covered chicken.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Garnish with cilantro and jalapeños, then serve with rice or tortillas.
